The Institute of Engineers (India)

IE(I) Kattankulathur Local Center

The Institution of Engineers (India) is a non-profit organization supporting various technical activities, with its headquarters at Kolkatta. The Institution of Engineers (India), Kattankulathur is the youngest 16th local center, inaugurated in the centenary year of Tamilnadu State Center in December 2019. This local center actively organizes webinars, workshops, and other technical activities since its inception.

The latest issue of Volume 3 (Issue 2) of IE(I) Kattankulathur Local Centre showcases the various events held by different divisions within the SRM Institute of Science and Technology from January to March 2023. As a part of the committee of IE(I) Kattankulathur Local Chapter, we are honored to organize numerous technical events and engage in various student activities through well-established associations with a long-standing reputation.

Our local chapter is highly active and offers opportunities for IEI members. All committee members enthusiastically propose and organize technical-funded events. They have learned professional practices necessary for conducting events, ranging from creating brochures to preparing event reports. We would like to express our gratitude to IEI, Kolkatta headquarters for their encouragement in organizing more funded events.

The technical events such as All India Workshops, Seminars, Quizzes, and Hackathons provide students with the chance to acquire new knowledge and explore subjects beyond their curriculum. The primary beneficiaries are students from diverse engineering disciplines. Consequently, our current activities at the local center foster a robust multidisciplinary culture among all the stakeholders involved.
